Your Seamstress

Hey there!

I’m Steph and I set up Stitch & Fix Alterations in 2021 in my little flat in Woburn Sands. I have always loved everything sewing from a young age and when going through my options for GCSE’s ,Textiles screamed out at me. I have always wanted to have a job that I loved, rather than one to just pay the bills and I felt this was it.
I continued with A levels and finally went on to get a BA hons in Fashion Design at the University of Northampton from 2012-2017.
Straight after graduation I joined an alterations company where I learnt a whole different side to the fashion industry. My degree allowed me to create patterns, experiment with fabrics and create all sorts of designs, whereas alterations allowed me to hone in on the details and the construction of garments in multiple different ways. I have had years of learning from an a variety of seamstresses with different methods and experience and I thrive from a challenge!
Bridal became my speciality as I fell in love with the fabrics and who doesn’t love working with pretty dresses!

On a personal note;
I have a beautiful little girl with a rare genetic condition who you may see in the summer holidays! I have a wonderful other half - I’m still waiting for my own ring! and a little shih tzu called Suzie who’s a great cuddler.
I thrive to always improve and get better in everything I do and firmly believe I offer a friendly, laid back environment and nothing is too much to ask.
I absolutely love my job and I cannot wait to start the alterations process with you, in what ever it may be. From trousers to bridal wear, I’m up for it all.
I look forward to hearing from you very soon.
